HappyFeet Program:

Wolcott Soccer is excited to partner with HappyFeet Soccer to bring soccer to our 3- and 4-year-olds! HappyFeet is a nationally recognized and professionally developed soccer program which has been specifically designed for children ages 3 to 5. HappyFeet introduces children to the wonderful world of soccer by going on great imaginary adventures while also playing fun games and singing songs, all with our special soccer ball - Bob the Bobcat. We call this “STORY TIME WITH A SOCCER BALL” and kids have a blast with it! HappyFeet Soccer League is an excellent opportunity for your little one to develop and showcase their HappyFeet soccer skills. Each week includes a 30-minute adventure, a skills session using our fantastic skills for stickers methodology, and a short, small-sided game. Players will work on many different skills each session and will focus on a specific soccer skill, such as a scissors, over the course of the season. Our league curriculum maximizes fun and excitement to ensure children always want to come back the next week!

Tryouts:
U9/U10
This year, we will be holding open try-outs for U9 and U10 players to join our competitive/travel team.  Players will be evaluated by past and present travel coaches to determine the best placement for each individual.  There will be two try-out dates (Thurs June 17 and Saturday June 19), and our hope is that players can attend both. Time and location will be announced soon.  We highly encourage all children born between 2012-2014 to try-out.  For more information about the travel program, please see our website.
*Players with outstanding balances from previous seasons will not be able to attend try-outs and will therefore forfeit their placement on a travel team. Please email Dayna Zynda if you have any concerns about this.
U12 Travel
We had a great turn-out this spring for our U10/U11 group!  We highly encourage players to register for the fall travel program.  Because of roster size, we do not currently see the need for a try-out for this program. However, if there turns out to be more players registered than the program can roster, we may reconsider and hold a try-out after registration closes on June 30, 2021.

Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is looking for new members! This volunteer position is a great way to get involved in making decisions and sharing your ideas for improving our soccer program.  Our goal is to help children not only learn to play soccer but also to love doing it.  Please consider joining us so we can share new and innovative ways of working together.  If you are interested in coming to a board meeting, please email me so I can make sure to get you the upcoming schedule.  We meet once per month, so this is a great way to stay involved without a large time commitment!

Coaches
After 17 years with Wolcott Soccer, Coach Jeff Zynda and Dayna Zynda are retiring.
Huge thank you to Jeff and Dayna for the time and effort they put into coaching many kids throughout the years. You inspired and taught kids sportsmanship, fair play, winning attitude and many other values that changed kids lives forever.

Note from Dayna:
We jumped in from Day 1 with our (now) 22 year-old and all four of our children went through the program.  Now our youngest will be moving onto High School this fall, and our time commitment will need to change to fit the new schedule.  We will greatly miss "our kids" but hope to pop in and see their progress as they move forward with Wolcott Soccer. We will need coaches to help, now more than ever, especially in our recreation program.  Please consider sharing a couple hours a week of your time with our children so we can continue to carry forward our mission of teaching kids how to have fun while playing the game of soccer.  I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about our coaching requirements, so please email me.
